Ark

One of the main games that The Skwad plays is Ark, this is because if you do it right you will never run out of things to do and fun to be had. The hardest part is that you can never find a decent unofficial server to play and official is generally out of the question for anyone who works long hours. With that in mind, we decided we could run our own server and make it a place to get away from some of the toxicity of the other servers and make the stats perfect.

Enter “Slang N Tame” a long-standing Ark Survival Evolved Unofficial PC server with a large following and huge presence in the Ark community. Some of the most desired settings for Unofficial Sessions were designed by our coder B0mber#3056 and shared with the Ark Survival Evolved community.

Rules

  1. Discord & Nicknames
    • Everyone must join the discord! – NO HUMAN NAMES. – After joining the discord everyone must change their Discord name to IGN[Tribe]. Eg. “Bomber [BombSquad].” Anyone not in the discord will only be warned once.
  2. No Excessive PvP see below
    • This is of course subjective. Generally, it includes; foundation wiping(this does not include boat bases or platform saddle bases. Boats are too weak to not destroy and if a base is on a plat saddle it is viewed as an aggressive dino), killing ALL passive tames, caging for extended periods, and base trapping. If you feel like your base was excessively attacked please reach out to a @Mod or #create a ticket.
  3. No building in or around useful/unfair locations
    • This includes obelisks, artifacts, loot caves, glitches, rat-holes, etc. Anyone breaking this rule is revoking the protection of any other rule and can be raided without consequence.
  4. No Excessive Structure Spamming
    • Placing too many structures will lag the server and is unnecessary if you are trying to claim an area for your base. If you break this rule you will only get ONE warning before more severe consequences occur.
  5. No Questionable Raiding Techniques see below
    • This rule is also subjective. Raiding using cannons to bypass turret range, mesh biting, and using extreme splash damage dinos such as Titans.

As with any situation in life without proof, nothing can be done. Both sides need to take screenshots and videos if they think a rule was broken. We only have a few rules to follow for our server and we expect them to be followed. The first offense will be a warning, the second offense will be a 3-day raid ban, second offense will be a 7 days raid ban or ban. If you make it to a fourth offense you will be banned without question. This is essentially a 3 strike system with an exception or two, if you can right the wrong you will get an extra chance but if the offense is extreme you may incur more than 1 strike.

Here are a few scenarios to consider.

Passive Killing In the case of passive dinos it is considered excessive if you kill a passive dino when it is base bound(within base walls, the general area of a base). This is because there is no need to meat run bases it is distasteful and very trolly. If you think there is loot on a dino or that it has a good saddle knock it out instead of killing it. On the same note if you have left your passive tame somewhere in the world it is fair game.

Foundation Wiping This is fairly self-explanatory, but just for the sake of expanding on the rule, I will explain. If you need to get into a stone base use grenades or set the c4 far enough away to not destroy the entire base. A simple get in and get out is all you need, meaning destroy one wall/door/gate and try to not destroy anything else. Bases with large turret towers/internal turrets or other defenses that make it difficult will need the proof of such a case, so take screenshots and videos. Cave bases with locked vaults are not protected by this rule. To get into vaults it takes nearly 7 c4 and will likely destroy everything around it.

Caging, Base Trapping This rule is meant to protect people from trapping you in a cage or your base and preventing you from playing the game. Normal PvP uses are fine, meaning if you need to build a fob to raid that is fine but you cannot place fobs entirely around someone’s base for several days in hopes they quit the game.

General Excessive PvP This is just generally “don’t fight under your weight class”. If you have a full metal base with end game tames and see someone’s base that you know just started, doesn’t have much, and has kept to themselves do not raid them. Open world PvP does not fit into this category and is generally OK under any circumstances as this is a PvP server.
